DISCOVERY Be found. Be understood. BE SURFACED.
Design 33 builds the discovery layer around your business — so it can be found, understood and surfaced across modern search and answer environments. Not by chasing every algorithm, but by making what you are genuinely clear to machines and humans alike.

Search is no longer one surface.
A business today has to be understood across Google Search, local and map results, answer engines, AI-assisted search, structured and entity systems, and the editorial and search content that supports them. The point is not to chase every algorithm that changes. The point is to create a coherent, machine-readable and human-useful representation of the business — once, and well.
Does the right person find you at the right moment?
Finding begins with the right search architecture — the places, terms and intents where your kind of buyer looks for your kind of business. The work is practical: local and organic search structure, geographic territory, and the foundations that let the rest of the system be understood.
Can the business be understood as itself?
Understanding is about entity clarity — clear structured data, accurate descriptions, and a consistent story of what the business is, where it works, and what it does. That is what lets answer engines and AI systems represent you correctly instead of guessing.
Do the signals keep strengthening?
Surfacing is the ongoing part — content that answers real searches, technical health that stays clean, and measurement that shows visibility changing over time. We improve eligibility and signals, and we measure what actually moves. No agency can guarantee a position; we can guarantee the system is built and the progress is watched.
Six capabilities, one coherent system.
Not six separate services bolted together — one discipline, kept tight. Each capability builds on the others, and they all serve the same goal: be found, be understood, be surfaced.
Local & Organic Search
The traditional surface, done properly. Local search architecture, intent mapping and geographic territory — written for Australian businesses with a strong local-first character.
Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO)
Structuring your information so answer engines can understand your business, services, expertise and relationships. We improve eligibility — we never promise a citation.
GEO — Generative Engine Optimisation
The practice of improving entity clarity, source understanding, topical authority and machine-readable context so generative engines can reference you accurately. Inclusion is never guaranteed.
Content Strategy & Editorial
Useful, evidence-led content planned around what people genuinely search for — service content, location content and topical authority. No bulk AI article factories.
Structured Data & Technical Discovery
Schema.org and JSON-LD, entity relationships, crawl and indexation foundations, canonical architecture and a search-friendly information architecture. No ranking promises — clean foundations.
Measurement & Iteration
Monitoring visibility, search-console signals, enquiry attribution, content performance and technical health — then iterating on evidence. Ongoing work, not a generic monthly retainer pitch.
Discovery looks different in every sector.
The discovery problem changes with the business — urgent local calls, considered advisory searches, trust-led healthcare, high-intent lending. Here is what the discipline does in each.
Geographic & Urgent Discovery
Making an urgent local need findable at the moment of search — suburb territory, tap-to-call reach and local search architecture.
Commercial Contract Discovery
Helping facility managers find verified commercial, medical and industrial cleaning providers — and be confident in what they find.
High-Intent Service Discovery
Surfacing borrowing scenarios and structured information for home buyers and refinancers seeking specialist guidance — understandably verified.
Trust & Local Discovery
Treatment schema, credentials and suburb reach that help new family and cosmetic patients find — and trust — a clinical practice.
Expertise & Entity Discovery
Building the entity clarity and topical authority that lead high-value advisory searches to the right firm — with the proof to back the claim.
Catchment & Territory Discovery
Mapping geographic catchments so regional equipment, vehicle and specialist workshop searches find the right local expert first.
How discovery actually gets built.
Map
Business, audience, geography, competitors and the search intents that matter.
Structure
Information architecture, entities, schema and the technical foundations beneath it all.
Build
Search content, local pages, answer-ready information and the discovery assets that carry the story.
Measure
Visibility, search signals, enquiries and technical health — read against real evidence.
Refine
Continuous improvement, provoked by measurement — never by guesswork.
Priced on scope. Built around the problem.

Frequently asked about Discovery.
Straight answers. Email hello@design33.com.au if yours is not here.
What is Discovery?
Discovery is the Design 33 discipline that makes a business findable, understandable and surfaced across modern search environments — Google Search, local results, answer engines, AI-assisted search, and structured or entity systems.
How is Discovery different from traditional SEO?
Traditional SEO services chase individual rankings and keywords. Discovery treats search as one surface among several, and builds a coherent, machine-readable and human-useful representation of the business across search, answers, AI visibility, content, structure and ongoing growth.
What is Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO)?
AEO is the practice of structuring information — content, data and semantic relationships — so answer engines can clearly understand a business, its services and its expertise. That improves eligibility to be cited, but no agency can guarantee that any specific answer engine will recommend a business.
What is GEO or generative-engine optimisation?
GEO is the practice of improving entity clarity, source understanding, topical authority and machine-readable context so generative engines can more accurately understand and reference a business. Inclusion and recommendation are never guaranteed.
Can you guarantee Google rankings or AI citations?
No. Nobody can legitimately guarantee rankings, Map Pack positions or AI citations — search and AI systems are controlled by their own platforms. What we can do is build strong discovery architecture and measure how visibility changes over time. Be wary of any agency that promises guaranteed positions.
Do you create content as part of Discovery?
Yes. We plan and help produce useful, evidence-led search content — service and location pages, topical guides and expert pages — built around what people genuinely search for. We do not bulk-generate AI articles simply to fill a site.
Does Discovery include technical SEO and structured data?
Yes. Discovery covers Schema.org and JSON-LD structured data, entity relationships, crawl and indexation foundations, canonical architecture and a search-friendly information architecture, along with resolving technical discovery issues.
Can Discovery work with a website built elsewhere?
Yes. Discovery is a layer of work that sits on top of any existing digital presence — whether the website was built by Design 33, kept from a previous agency, or still being planned.
